I read through three websites with small lists of writing prompts. None of the items on the first two seemed to make sense for a microstory. They’d be too involved too fast.
On the third site, one prompt featured their instead of its. I figured it was because their was a space holder for there in another. I shook my head at a two where there should have been a boat in tow, and swore out loud when the first element of a news story was a lead instead of lede.
Suddenly, I knew what I was to write about.
