Hope

By: Lauren Spagnoletti

The anticipation every night is palpable. Will there be something? Where will we find it?

We excitedly put the children to bed and creep down the stairs. We stock up on provisions and head in.
We start looking in the usual places as we start dipping into the supplies. We find nothing.

No matter, there are plenty of other places to look. We move onto option two. Nothing.

Three? Nothing.

We start to grow nervous. He frantically searches in odd spots. Maybe something will surprise us?

I grow bored, and turn to my phone.

Another night with nothing to watch.
