The room was so silent that all you could hear was the buzzing of the hot lights overhead. It was simultaneously dark, and blindingly bright. Looking out into the audience, there was nothing but an aura bouncing off the blackness.
They waited for her to speak. She had power in this moment, and she knew it. Her heart raced, adrenaline pumped, and her feet felt like they hovered just an inch above the stage floor.
What happened from here on would only be determined by the work that she put in before. Now she was just along for the ride.
