Carefully, slowly, ever so cautiously, she applies the nail polish.
She blows on it after every coat, making sure it’s dry before the next.
She remembers to apply a base and top coat to protect her nails, resulting in a glorious shine.
When the tiniest droplet touches her cuticle, she wipes it with surgical-like precision with an acetone-dipped cuticle stick.
She finishes after quite some time, and gently fans her hands back and forth to expedite the drying process.
She cautiously picks up the remote control to change the channel, and dents the polish on one nail.
EVERY. DAMNED. TIME.
