A little child stood on a street corner with a sign reading “Love for Free.” The child stood there in good weather and bad, late at night and in the blaring sun.
Cars drove past and honked. Couples holding hands walked past and laughed at the child. Still the child stood, calmly holding the sign.
Years passed. The child stood. Quietly. Patiently.
One day, while out walking, an old man who had seen enough stopped to ask the child, “If Love is free, why won’t you give it to someone?”
The child looked on, thoughtfully.
“Someone has to accept it.”
