Casey was having a tea party. Mr. Teddy was there, as was Barbie and Lucy the unicorn. Daemon was there too. He was always there. He frightened her in the beginning. No one else had imaginary friends with flaming skin, pointy horns, a lashing tail, and a wicked smile. Plus he caused all sorts of trouble. But no one ever believed it was him. “Daemon isn’t real”, they’d say. “Stop being so naughty.” Then she’d have to spend the whole day in her room alone. Humpf. That was then. Now, who could say what was him and what was her?
